Tezpur University
A fully residential University nestled on a 106 ha campus at Tezpur in Assam, India. Tezpur University (TEZU) has completed 25 years.
About the local coordinator
Prof. Debendra Chandra Baruah is a Professor in the Department of Energy, Tezpur University. Presently Prof Baruah is also working as Director of Internal Quality Assessment Cell and Coordinator of Centre for University-Industry interface, Tezpur University. His areas of specialization are Renewable Energy, Energy Planning, Thermal Energy Management, Rural energy access and Agricultural mechanization. He obtained his PhD degree from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, India in 2000. Prof. Baruah has served as a Visiting Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, UNISA during August-October, 2017. He has worked in the laboratory of the Department of Mechanical, Material and Manufacturing Engineering, University of Nottingham, UK as Indian Distinguished Visiting Fellow during May- July, 2010. Handling 15 externally funded research projects and guiding 17 PhD students, Prof Baruah has published 100 publications and developed few technologies. Prof. Baruah has established international research collaborations with eminent institutes such as University of Nottingham, United Kingdom, University of South Africa (UNISA), KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden, GIC, AIT, Bangkok and Pamoja CleanTech AB, Sweden and visited seven different countries. He has received Commendation Medal by Indian Society of Agricultural Engineering (ISAE) and eminent engineering personality by The Institution of Engineers (India). Prof Baruah is Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India), life members of Indian Society of Agricultural Engineers and Indian Science Congress.
