AdaptNET Mission
We recognize the dramatic truth of the words of the United Nations representatives: “climate variability and extremes are among the key drivers behind the recent uptick in global hunger and one of the leading causes of severe food crises”. We agree that is time to act, to strengthen resilience and adaptive capacity of food systems, people’s livelihoods, and nutrition in response to climate variability and extremes. We also understand that India is particularly exposed to climate change challenges. The country’s relentless growth rate is adding pressure to Indian government and research Institutions to come up with applicable solutions.
We are committed to fostering a generation of scientists that can understand and counteract the negative effects of climate change on agriculture, and we do understand that this has to start from the countries where the effects are more intense. Our goal is to increase the awareness about climate change, and to set up the scientific tools to reduce its effects.
